A.N.G.E.L. Initiative Founder Jamisin Manganelli to be Honored with Courage
Award
PARAMUS, N.J.
On June 17, the Board of
Trustees of the Care Plus Foundation and Care Plus NJ will honor Jamisin
Manganelli, founder of The A.N.G.E.L. Initiative (Awakening New Generations
Enhancing Lives.) The mission of The
A.N.G.E.L. Initiative is to promote education, awareness, support, and research
for suicide prevention; along with decreasing the stigma associated with mental
illness.
After losing her mother,
Susan Manganelli, age 50, in 2006 to suicide, Jamisin Manganelli pledged to make
a difference in the community. In
2008, Jamisin created The A.N.G.E.L.Initiative, under the umbrella of the
nonprofit Reach Out, Inc.
Over the past two years the
A.N.G.E.L. Initiative has supported such organizations as the Care Plus
Foundation, American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, and Active Minds.
Jamisin, a continues this pledge by
hosting annual events, participating as an active board member for the North
Jersey Chapter of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, and will be
receiving her Masters in counseling in August of 2010 in the hope of working
directly with clients who are in need.
Reach
Out, Inc., a New Jersey based non-profit, was founded in 1989 by Lori Michaels,
who at the time was only sixteen years of age. For over sixteen years, Reach
Out, Inc. and its volunteers have been inspiring people, especially our youth,
to attain their personal potential and to make a difference in their lives and

The dinner, which is
accompanied by a silent auction and raffle, is the Foundation’s largest annual
fundraiser and will be held at Macaluso’s in
Hawthorne, NJ. Information on event
