Care Plus Foundation and BCC Wellness Center Present Award-Winning Film

Paramus, NJ: January 13, 2009 The award-winning film jumping off bridges, will be screened at Bergen Community College Ciccone Theatre on March 5, 2009 at 6:00 pm.  A panel discussion with the film’s writer/director Kat Candler, students and mental health professionals will follow the film, providing a meaningful dialogue to promote awareness and prevention.

“At heart, this story is about the struggle of grief,” says Chandler. “How each of us deals with grief in our own strange and debilitating ways.  It's also a story about friendship, strength and about finding hope.”

The story follows an adventurous group of four best friends in the trenches of adolescence and examines the impact of suicide on those left behind.  It features Michael Emerson (LOST), Bryan Chafin (The Patriot), and Rhett Wilkins from the Sundance darling, The Puffy Chair.  www.jumpingoffbridges.org

“It’s a film that allows people to talk about how loss effects those left behind and we’ve learned that it is so important to talk about this, people need to talk about this”, says film Producer Stacy Schoolfield. “We’ve seen the film affect people in very powerful ways.  It definitely strikes a chord”, says Schoolfield.  “We hope to use the film as a means of creating awareness, and as a tool that will help people move on and heal.”

Tickets are available for $10 in advance, $12 at the door.  Bergen Community College ID holders are admitted for free. Seating is limited, advance reservations are recommended.  To make reservations or purchase tickets call the Care Plus Foundation 201-986-5070 or tarap@careplusnj.org
